JD(S) Flagship Elevated Corridors to Kick Start in Jan 2019
Bellwether elevated corridors infrastructure project’s construction work proposed by Janata Dal (Secular)-Congress government in Bengaluru is going to get started by January 2019 and be completed within three years, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy announced on Thursday.
The 102.05-km project will be accomplished in three years at an estimated cost of Rs. 25,495 crores. No toll will be levied on the users of the proposed corridors.
“We are proposing to limit the acquisition of private properties, for which the number of lanes will be reduced in some sections from six to four… work will start from January,” Mr. Kumaraswamy told presspersons in Bengaluru after reviewing the project with representatives of civic utility agencies such as Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd., Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, and Bangalore Development Authority.
